Have you started thinking about 2002 yet? Have you started planning to make it an even better year than 2001? If not, you need to get going! Don't wait until after the holidays, don't wait until January when things won't be as busy as they are now. The more you procastinate, the better your chances of putting it off indefinitely. Later never seems to come. Start deciding what you are going to focus on in the coming weeks and months (remember that in Internet terms, weeks and months are like years, so concentrate on the next few months for now.) You have to have a long-term goal, obviously, but for now spend your energies working on the short-term goals. It seems to be easier to manage if you take on smaller chunks instead of always worrying about the big picture. Take a look at your website and see what areas need improving. Where do you need to update information that is now outdated? Decide which affiliate program or programs you want to make more money from and figure out better ways of showcasing them. Commit to writing a few articles and submit them to all of the article directories. This is a great way to get additional traffic and to build credibility for yourself and your website. Promise yourself that you will trade links with at least 5 new sites a day (link popularity and additional traffic for free!) Take a look at your position in the search engines for your most desired keywords and phrases. See anything that can be improved on? Buy a book or two to help find new and better ways of promoting and improving your website.
